Now is the time when you should get aggressive. Players are going to be wanting to call you as well. Many of your opponents are likely to be low stacks. They’ll want to see a flop with a low pair. Re-raise them pre-flop. When you re-raise a raiser, make sure you have something so that you don’t have to commit anymore chips to the pot after the flop. It makes it easier for them to call and you can continue to raise them if you have something.
This is when you’ll have a better idea of what your opponent has and what range of hands they may have. You should keep bets at this level and not get too aggressive. If they call you, just call them again. If they raise, throw away your hand. Either way, you can get paid off nicely for accomplishing the small blind.
